Friday September 24th, 2010 - MFPS will be a special guest at the Factory of Terror
The Factory of Terror is in its ninth year of operation. The last three years have been at the current location on Mahoning Road. Previously, the Factory of Terror was located in the former Hercules Engines building on Market Street in downtown Canton, Ohio. The Factory of Terror is now in an abandoned aluminum foundry which manufactured exhaust manifolds and intake manifolds (engine parts) for the automobile industry.
The raw/scrap aluminum was melted, cast, and machined here. The entire factory consists of 150,000 square feet of manufacturing/warehouse space as well as 10,000 square feet of office space. The facility is situated on 7.5 acres of property.
The haunted house consumes approximately 40,000 square feet of the overall facility. The Factory of Terror also uses the former office and sales showrooms for makeup, costume, corporate offices, actor rooms, control and surveillance rooms. The former employee entrance and guardhouse has been converted into the attraction’s ticket booth. Each year, it takes about 85 people to operate the Factory of Terror. This includes fire and police support as well as actors, make-up artists, ticket takers, and custodial staff.

Everett Farnam built the Farnam Manor back in 1834 for his bride. In the roaring 20's, it was an exclusive club for Akron Policeman. For over 30 years, this historic relic was the home of the Danish Smörgåsbord Restaurant. Today, it is a house museum filled with 1800 antiques. The spirit of Farnam, his wife, as well as their little daughter Emily have been reported to be found at the property. An apparition of a woman in a white dress has been seen in the bedroom. The spirit of an ornery young boy, Ichabod, makes himself known by opening doors and making noises. Sometimes the aroma of Mr. Kirk's aftershave fills the room.
What is the explanation of the big blue orb captured on film out in the yard?
Farnam Foundation has partnered with Munroe Falls Paranormal Society (M.F.P.S.) to respectfully investigate the spirits at the Farnam Manor. This is an experience you won't want to miss!Reservations required.

Saturday October 16th & 23rd, 2010 - The Ghosts of Burton Historical Tour
The Ghosts of Burton Historical Tour
The Ghosts of Burton Historical Tour will take place on Saturday, October 16th and Saturday, October 23rd, 2010. Tour times are 6:00 pm 7:00 pm, and 8:00 pm. Each tour lasts about 2 1/2 hours. Several volunteers will be stationed throughout the historical Century Village and at the County's oldest cemetery to tell local stories of old.
The tour includes historically accurate stories of the local area, some good "ghost stories", and includes a shuttle bus ride to a local cemeteries for further discussion on the former inhabitants of the area and a look at some very old grave markers. A light snack and beverage is included. We will walk at an easy pace, covering about a mile. Some stops have stairs, so the tour is not entirely handicapped accessible.
Pre-registration and pre-payment is required. In past years, the Ghosts of Burton Historical Tour has sold out in advance of the dates. You may mail in a check or call with your credit card number. A confirmation will be sent to you.
The cost is $18 per person for adults, $12 for ages 8 to 14, and $8 for under age 8. This tour is intended to be "family friendly", but very small children may find it boring. (We are sure that older teens and adults will find it quite interesting!) This is NOT a "haunted house" tour, and we do not create artificial cheap tricks for amusement.
MFPS will be joining Psychic Sonya on a HauntedCleveland.com ghost tour of the historical Roscoe Village located in Coshocton Ohio. MFPS will setup and perform a live investigation in one of the village’s haunted buildings. Guests on the tour will be able to see the investigation take place live on the viewing monitors and be able to meet MFPS investigators and ask questions about paranormal investigation. Details on this event will be posted soon...
